How do I get my band to play at JAXX?

Only bother if you are a National Act on a National Tour with an established booking agency or label (not your Mom, sister etc. booking you), a successful Regional Act or Local (within 60 miles of the club).  First you must contact Jay Nedry, the owner/booking agent.  He will discuss the conditions on which you will play including price, tickets, other bands on the bill, advertising.  Regionals & Locals, be prepared to sell tickets & have your fans come to the club and support you.  A low turn out is certain to doom you for a subsequent (next) booking!!

Or send promo materials to: Jay Nedry, Box 404, Aldie VA 20105

Why doesn't the booking agent call me back?

JAXX booking agent is also the OWNER. It takes a lot of time to run a business and deal with temper mental musicians. Dudes (and Dudettes), he'll get back to you as soon as he can. He needs bands like you need work. There may be scheduling problems being worked out or he's asking others about your band!! Be patient...We get 300 calls a day. if you are long distance with no chance of playing, you won't hear from us.

What can I do to help boost attendance at my gig?

Band use mailing lists, flyers, phoning friends and word of mouth to name a few. If you have an audition tape, have somebody take the best 30 sec spot you have and convert to .mp3 format and email it to: our webmaster. It will be linked to your band's listing on the JAXX CALENDAR page. That way people can sample the band and decide if they want to hear more.
